Question by Nora G: do you live in the state of Washington?
My husband and i are planning a vacation there next summer and besides the space needle , we would like to know of some out of the way places to go to that the normal tourist wouldn’t go to.
thanks in advance to all who help.

Well, right by the needle is the Science Fiction Museum and EMP. Website below.
As for out of the way places, you didn’t mention what interests, sports, or hobbies you like to do so I am answering blind as you what things you like to do.
I mean you can join my late night monday bowling group if you like to. Website is listed below. In the photo there, I am on the left and my wife is in the center.
If you like coffee, then there is Cafe Vivace or Caffe Vita for the best coffee. Their two websites are listed below.
If you like parks for a nice walk, then there are four that are best. Discovery Park, Gas Works Park, Golden Gardens Park, and Greenlake Park. All the links are below.
You didn’t say if you are renting a car or using the bus. If bus, then call Metro Bus at 206-553-3000 when you get into town to plan your trips. When the recording starts, hit zero to speak to a live person faster. Give them your starting address and address of the park or just say EMP or Needle and they know the address of major locations like those. Then on Saturdays you can get an all day pass, or you can get little paper transfers if you need to change buses. If you are driving a rental car, then use yahoo maps as I think they do Seattle better than mapquest. IMHO
If you like to bicycle, then the Burke Gilman Trail is great. Link is below.
Well, those are cool things to do, but you didn’t say if you were liberal or conservative, so I can’t really suggest sex clubs or military museums or whatever…. *smile*
